The boutique IP firm also congratulates another of its staff members, Jeremy Rutman, and his partner, Ariel Kesselman, for placing top 10 in the closely followed technology competition

Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv – Lior Itzhaki of the firm Dr. Eyal Bressler & Co. and her team members at PolyTouch recently won the BizTech 2007 competition. Together with her team members Arik Levy, Ofek Levin and Lena Levin they developed an outstanding technological innovation, presenting a new approach towards tissue attachment without need for stitches.  First prize recipients received a prize of NIS 50,000 and representation in the “Novotek” competition in the Czech Republic, a prelude competition to that held in Berkeley, USA this October.  In addition to the purse and representation the awardees will receive patent and accounting support along with scholarships to top MBA programs in Israel.

Another member of the firm, Jeremy Rutman, placed among the top 10 finalists in the competition for his innovation in developing an algorithm to ensure the integrity of online gaming.  Together with his partner Ariel Kesselman, both pursuing their PhDs in physics from Israel’s Technion University, they developed a unique algorithm to keep online gaming operators in check.  The duo developed Fair Deal, software intended to prevent online gaming participants from being defrauded by the operators themselves, boosting confidence and ultimately participation rates in the fast growing industry.

BizTECH 2007 was sponsored by Globes magazine and brought in 120 participants from a variety of backgrounds.  Of the participating groups this year, 33% were in the life sciences and medical device category, 21% in Internet applications, 13% in software and IT, and 10% in communications.
