Israel has been described as “start-up nation” for the disproportionate number of innovative local companies that have enjoyed commercial success. One of the most salient issues in this connection is the role that IP and public policy has played in fostering these developments. The lecture will address these and related issues in connection with the “start-up” milieu of the country.
Neil Wilkof is a member of the Bressler Group, a leading Israeli IP boutique. He has been recognized by Chambers and Legal 500, designated a top 300 IP Strategist and named the Israel intellectual property lawyer of 2012. Mr. Wilkof has been an adjunct professor at the Interdisciplinary Center in Israel and a visiting professor at the IIT-Bombay. He has lectured at various universities around the world.
He is author and co-editor of Intellectual Property in the Global Marketplace (John Wiley), Trademark Licensing (Sweet & Maxwell), and, Overlapping Intellectual Property Rights (Oxford University Press). He on the board of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice and is a member of the IPKat and IP Finance blogs.
